To the Mt. Vernon Mayor's proposal to close down most of Mt. Vernon's public parks. A public park is one of the last examples of the people's "commons"--places owned by the citizens and open to all members of the public. For the health of all, we should be protecting, even expanding, these green spaces, not closing them.
