Etta has fought to help keep local activists out of jail such as James "Skrill" Eberheart, Jr. (New Era Detroit) and Rev David Alexander Bullock (Change Agent Consortium); has fought on behalf of Ayanna Jones, Damon Grimes, and others; has fought against facial recognition software and Project Green Light surveillance footage. She has stood up to save the Highland Park Post Office, on behalf of Black Lives Matter and Detroit Will Breathe, and with D-15's fight for fair wages and working conditions. D. Etta is a longtime activist for public education, fighting for children in Detroit, Inkster, and Highland Park. She fought to restore former Congressman John Conyers to the ballot, on behalf of Detroit retirees and pensioners, and on behalf of the residents of the State of Michigan for full and meaningful access to their Courts.
