The Indiana Green Party has announced Dr. George Wolfe, Professor Emeritus at Ball State University, as their candidate for Governor in the 2020 November election. During his 32 years of teaching at the university, Professor Wolfe served as Director of the Ball State University Center for Peace and Conflict Studies from 2002 to 2006 and Outreach Coordinator from 2006 to 2014.
For George, It is important to challenge the status quo and contribute Green Party ideas to the political conversation. He is an experienced educator and environmental activist. His two main issues are (1) teacher pay and support for public schools, and (2) cooperating with market forces as we move our state energy production towards greater reliance on solar, wind, and geothermal energy.
George would (1) Address the concerns of Indiana teachers with increased salaries and funding for public schools; (2) In cooperation with Indiana-Michigan electric, support a 10 year plan to phase out coal plants and shift to solar and wind energy production; and (3) Reform our elections by promoting greater reliance on paper ballots (mail in voting) and by instituting "Ranked Choice Voting" so minor party candidates will not be viewed as "spoilers."
